The World Day for Safety and Health at Work has been celebrated worldwide for almost 20 years.

This commemoration was born out of the need to promote safe and healthy practices at work, with the intention of showing the magnitude of the problem and raising awareness that risks and accidents in the work environment can be avoided.
April 28 was proclaimed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations General Assembly as an annual international campaign to encourage safe, healthy and dignified work. In addition, it is a tribute to the victims of work accidents and occupational diseases.
Each year it focuses on a specific theme; this year, entitled “Anticipating crises, preparing and responding”, it seeks to promote occupational health and safety systems based on anticipation and resilience.
There is a wide variety of protocols and products to safeguard this safety and health at work. At Maxport, you can find a wide variety of items for different areas and sectors.
Currently, as we are immersed in a pandemic, respiratory and eye protection equipment is essential, such as FFP2 masks and full-face shields. But we cannot forget the variety of products that have been necessary for years for the safe development of work.
In industrial sectors, the use of appropriate footwear and clothing is essential. Depending on the specific dedication of the worker, he or she may need fireproof clothing, high visibility clothing, cold and rain clothing, or personal protective equipment.
In healthcare and service sectors, PPE is also very important, but we must not forget special clothing and footwear, since tasks carried out under hazardous work conditions can occur in any field. With appropriate clothing we will achieve the comfort and mobility necessary to prevent muscle damage and to allow us to move with agility and skill. Footwear is a great friend of these workers, since in addition to comfort and ergonomics, it offers them protection against slips, cuts and trips.
We can all work together to achieve the optimal conditions for the development of work. Both from the companies by promoting good habits, investing in adequate equipment and facilitating healthy access and work areas, and from the workers, by respecting the rules, using the tools provided by the company and being aware of the importance of our good work in the workplace.
